Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, of FOXSports.com, report Chicago White Sox 3B Mark Teahen will not necessarily start at third next season. The team could play him at third base, first base or left field. If the White Sox add a third baseman in the offseason, Teahen could be used in right field.

According to the Kansas City Star, the Royals have signed third baseman Wilson Betemit to a minor league contract.

Our View: The Royals needed someone to fill the void left by Mark Teahen, and since the organization is notoriously stingy, the Betemit move makes sense. He had a depressing .200/.280/.311 line in 45 at-bats with the White Sox last season, so he won't be popping up on any fantasy radars come draft day.
