Offensively, however, he consistently leaves much to be desired, except for a few swipes and position flexibility. As Alexi Casilla and Matt Tolbert look to establish themselves at second base, Punto will likely wind up seeing more of his playing time at shortstop and third base. The one to watch is Casilla, who has a solid Minor League track record and could prove to be a sleeper source of steals. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/588044 588044 Sat, 17 Oct 2009 10:00:58 EDT mlb.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/588044 Cuddyer homers to lift Twins over Royals Nick Punto's voice was hoarse and he strained to describe how the Minnesota Twins have rallied from seven games down in less than a month to push the AL Central race to the final day. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/563606 563606 Sat, 03 Oct 2009 20:24:01 EDT yahoo.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/563606 Twins | Punto's single aids in sweep The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Minnesota Twins IF Nick Punto went 2-for-4 Wednesday, Sept. 23, with a two-run single in the seventh inning to help the Twins win 8-6 over the Chicago White Sox. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/545147 545147 Thu, 24 Sep 2009 3:04:01 EDT kffl.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/545147 Yes, Punto still has just a .232/.332/.291 line, which makes him one of the least productive everyday Yes, Punto still has just a .232/.332/.291 line, which makes him one of the least productive everyday players in fantasy. But during the Twins' surge in September, Punto has been surprisingly, stealthily excellent. He's hitting .333 (18-for-54) and has reached base at a .429 clip. Even more impressively, Punto's slugging percentage for the month is around .400, and over 100 points higher than his season mark. It's tough to recommend starting him outside of deeper AL-only leagues, but he has played well enough to deserve an opportunistic flex look down the stretch. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/545062 545062 Thu, 24 Sep 2009 1:20:19 EDT mlb.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Nick_Punto/545062 Nick Punto was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a win over the White Sox Nick Punto was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday night, completing a three-game sweep.
