A club source recently noted concerns about the team's inconsistent approach at the plate and the halting development of several young players, including OF Colby Rasmus. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Colby_Rasmus/573891 573891 Fri, 09 Oct 2009 9:44:01 EDT kffl.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Colby_Rasmus/573891 Schumaker sitting on Thursday Skip Schumaker is not in the Cardinal lineup for their all-important Game 2 contest with the Dodgers on Thursday. Schumaker will re replaced by Julio Lugo at second base.

Our View: Tough call here by manager Tony La Russa, as Skip went 2-for-3 with a walk in last night's game and has been one of the most consistent hitters for the team all season. There was some talk that he might move to center field for today's game, but La Russa decided to stick with rookie Colby Rasmus in the outfield.

Lugo could start in Game 2 The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that Julio Lugo will likely get the start for the Cardinals in Thursday's Game 2 against the Dodgers. Lugo will likely play second base if he is in the lineup.

Our View: Tony La Russa decided to go with Skip Schumaker last night against the lefty Randy Wolf, but Lugo has been playing in most games in which the Birds are facing a southpaw. If Lugo is in the lineup tonight, don't be shocked to see Schumaker return to center field, taking the place of rookie Colby Rasmus.

Cardinals | Lefties rule La Russa's day The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa started IF Skip Schumaker at second base Wednesday, Oct. 7, in addition to OF Colby Rasmus, leaving righthanded-hitting IF Julio Lugo on the bench along with OF Rick Ankiel. La Russa used two lefties in his lineup because Los Angeles Dodgers SP Randy Wolf was throwing the first game of the National League Division Series. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Colby_Rasmus/572087 572087 Thu, 08 Oct 2009 8:20:01 EDT kffl.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Colby_Rasmus/572087
