While he's batting only .247, the outfielder does have 17 homers, 71 RBIs and 24 steals, which is clearly a worthy level of production in standard formats. He might not become the superstar some had hoped he'd become, but he still has the ability to post 20-plus homers and steals. http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Alex_Rios/564034 564034 Sun, 04 Oct 2009 0:12:25 EDT mlb.com http://www.fantasysp.com/player/mlb/Alex_Rios/564034 Rios went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two steals in the White Sox' win over the Tigers Saturday. Our View: Rios has been a huge disappointment this season, especially since he was traded to Chicago, but he got to play spoiler on Saturday. The Tigers are now in a first place tie with the Twins after a loss to Rios and the Sox.

Ricciardi will not return to the team in 2010, according to MLB.com's Noah Coslov.

Our View: Things are getting ugly north of the border. The firing (or resingation - it hasn't been revealed which it was yet) likely comes a few months too late. Ricciardi failed to deal Roy Halladay at the trade deadline last summer, absurd considering Halladay has shown zero interest in staying with Toronto once his contract is up after next season. Maybe Ricciardi's replacement will be able to get something in return for Doc this winter. In addition to Ricciardi's bungling of the Halladay situation, he also signed Vernon Wells and Alex Rios to two of the worst contracts of all time this decade. It isn't likely he will be missed in Toronto.
