Alex Gordon / Royals | Butler staying at first

Royals.MLB.com's Dick Kaegel reports the Kansas City Royals are sticking with 1B Billy Butler at first base. There has been talk they would move 3B Alex Gordon to first base and put Butler at designated hitter, but manager Trey Hillman said that wasn't in the works.

The Associated Press reports Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said the team didn't sign IF Omar Vizquel to be a coach, but Vizquel said he was willing to mentor the younger infielders. "I look at myself as a mentor to some other guys," Vizquel said. "I don't think that's going to be an issue. I've always been there for younger guys. I've been playing in the big leagues for a while."

Buster Posey / Giants interested in Torrealba

MLBlogs.com is reporting that the San Francisco Giants have some interest in catcher Yorvit Torrealba. The team is looking for a veteran to split time with rookie Buster Posey this season.

Our View: It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this, as Torrealba would be in pretty much the same situation in San Fran as Colorado next season. Both teams have young catchers that will play next season, and Torrealba would like to be the primary option wherever he goes.
