Veteran Tight End Seeks Comeback After Late-Season Knee Injury
At 35 years old, Zach Ertz is attempting to return for his 14th NFL season following a late-season ACL injury in 2025. Before going down, he caught 50 passes for 504 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games, proving he can still be a reliable safety valve when healthy.
Currently a free agent, Ertz has expressed interest in a reunion with Philadelphia to close out his career. Without a team, his fantasy ownership sits around 33% in early drafts, as managers are hesitant to invest in an aging, recovering tight end.
Our models suggest leaving Ertz on the waiver wire in standard formats until he signs with a team and proves his knee is fully recovered. He remains a late-round stash only in deep tight-end premium or best-ball formats where veteran depth is scarce.
