Lions adopting two-RB system?
The Lions may start using a two-running back attack to limit wear-and-tear on Kevin Smith, according to the Detroit News. Maurice Morris would be the main beneficiary.
Our View: It could also be because Smith is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry (on 125 carries), while Morris is averaging 4.1 on 26 carries. Smith was particularly ineffective against the Rams last weekend, carrying the ball 16 times for just 45 yards, while also aggravating a shoulder injury. Morris rushed 14 times for 63 yards. It's bad news for both, as Smith was already a tenuous fantasy option, and Morris isn't likely to get enough carries or scores to warrant owning as a flew play. Smith shouldn't be dropped, as he is also active in the Lions' passing 'attack,' but your likely already low expectations for him should be lowered.
