Ben Roethlisberger claims that the media made a big deal out of his comments and meetings (or lack thereof) with new offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Haley joined the Steelers after striking out as the Chiefs head coach. The play caller is known for his aggressive traits, including his demeanor with players off the field. "People blew it way out of proportion," Roethlisberger told KDKA-TV. "It's something new, we're getting to know each other. ... There's no trouble between us at all. When you get a comfort level of like eight years of the same thing and then you change it, it's just something different, so I'm not saying I don't like the playbook or anything like that. Some of the stuff is really -- some of the concepts are awesome, it's just getting an understanding of something new."
Analysis: The fact remains that Big Ben and the rest of the Steelers are learning a new playbook after working in Bruce Arians' offense for years. Big Ben seemed frustrated earlier this month but ultimately has plenty of time to learn the system Haley's had some success with in Arizona and Kansas City. Once Roethlisberger has a handle on the offense, big numbers should follow. The Steelers run game is a huge question mark this year with Rashard Mendenhall out, so much of the offense might fall on Roethlisberger's shoulders. We consider Big Ben a low-end No. 1 Fantasy QB in all leagues well worth a mid-round pick.
