Shaq headed to Cleveland
ESPN.com is reporting that the Suns have agreed to a deal that will send Shaquille O'Neal to Cleveland. The Suns will receive Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, as well as the 46th pick in Thursday's NBA draft and $500,000, in the trade. The deal is expected to be finalized on Thursday.
Our View: The Cavs were also in talks with the Hornets about Tyson Chandler, but the team ultimately felt Shaq was a better fit given that he has just one year left on his contract and won't prevent them from making a run at a big-time free agent next summer. This deal gives the Cavs a dominant force in a middle, and it's basically an admission by the Suns that they screwed up when they traded Shawn Marion for Shaq last February.
