Gay, Grizzlies can't agree on extension
According to the Twitter page of NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowki, the Grizzlies and forward Rudy Gay were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension. Gay will become a restricted free agent following this season.
Our View: Gay was asking for $12 million per year over three or five season, and the Grizzlies wouldn't budge off $10 million. With multiple teams expecting to have plenty of cap space heading into next year, this could very well be Gay's final season with the team.
