Kaman to test the waters

Hornets center Chris Kaman is set to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, and according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, it is unlikely that the team will make a big push to keep him. Kaman dealt with injuries during the season and was asked to stay away from the team in January, as the team attempted to trade him. He ultimately appeared in 27 games, average 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Analysis: Kaman is a free agent big man, always a valued commodity in free agency, so he will probably receive plenty of interest. It appears as if the Hornets will not be among the teams vying for his services, as they continue on a youth movement. The 30-year-old showed his can still be productive this season, so while he is obviously an injury risk, in the right place he can be considered a viable Fantasy center, worth targeting in the middle rounds on Draft Day.
