Choo's 27-year-old breakout continues
News: From The Sports Xchange notes: There haven't been many memorable performances by individual Indians this season. But one player who has had a good season is outfielder Shin-Soo Choo. The Indians were held to one run and three hits in a 6-1 loss to the White Sox on Monday night. Choo had two of the hits -- a home run and a double. The double was his 38th of the season and the home run was his 19th. Both are career highs. Choo also has 83 RBI and 20 stolen bases, both of which are tops on the Indians as well as career highs. It has been a solid all-around season for the 27-year-old left-handed hitter. Since the midseason trade of Victor Martinez, Choo has become the Indians' No. 3 hitter, although he also has hit in the cleanup spot more times than anyone on the team. Defensively, Choo has the strongest arm of any Indians outfielder. Looking ahead to 2010, Choo figures to again be the Indians' everyday right fielder and a middle-of-the-order hitter. [...]
