Wells hit hard at home
One-time rookie of the year candidate Randy Wells was pedestrian again on Thursday, walking five batters and allowing five runs in just four innings, as the Cubs lost 7-4 to Milwaukee at home.
Our View: Wells still has a solid overall line of 10-9 with a 3.18 ERA this season, but is just 2-5 with a 4.23 ERA since August 9. Not bad, but probably not rookie of the year caliber in a league that has Tommy Hanson in it this season.
