Dumatrait made his first game appearance on Sunday, when he pitched two innings of a Minor League game. The outing marked the first time since July 7 that Dumatrait had pitched in a competitive setting. Dumatrait is now on a five-day program, the same sort of program that all starting pitchers progress through during Spring Training in order to build up their arm strength. He will remain in Bradenton to pitch every fifth day once the team breaks camp, and he will remain here until he reaches the five-inning mark in his outings. Once that threshold is met, Dumatrait is expected to begin a rehab assignment with one of the team's Minor League affiliates. The best-case scenario Dumatrait could be ready to join the Major League team in four to six weeks.
