Paul Maholm went seven innings of one-hit ball while striking out nine Padres on Sunday. In July he has a 2.43 ERA, 31 strikeouts and 6 walks in 37 innings.Maholm has just one loss in 11 home starts this season. If you throw out a poor May, he actually has ace-like numbers. However, this is the same pitcher that had a 5.02 ERA in 29 starts last season. It's hard to imagine him keeping his average down this low (3.79) the rest of the way.
