Sandoval headed for ext. spring training

MLB.com reports Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval, on the 15-day disabled list, will go to Scottsdale for extended spring training on Monday. Sandoval has been out since May 2 due to a fractured hamate bone in his left hand. "He'll work out there during the road trip," manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday. "He's a couple of weeks away. He started some baseball activities, swinging the bat a little bit."

Analysis: Sandoval recently had the stitches removed from his surgery and has been able to begin baseball activities as a result. He will likely get some at-bats at extended spring training before heading on a rehab assignment so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Sandoval was batting .316 with five home runs and 15 RBI before going down with the injury and should be stashed away in all Fantasy formats while he's on the DL.
