MLB.com reports that the Giants are serious in their pursuit of free-agent second baseman Orlando Hudson. He is considered the top option at the position and has drawn the interest of several teams.Hudson, who turns 31 on Dec. 12, is among the Majors' most multidimensional infielders. The three-time Gold Glove winner hit a career-high .305 last season with eight home runs, 41 RBIs and a .367 on-base percentage in 407 at-bats. A switch-hitter, Hudson owns a lifetime .282 average.
