Amy K. Nelson of ESPN is reporting that Red Sox's shortstop Nick Green took early batting practice with the team on Friday. Green has not started a game since August because of a back/leg injury.
Our View: The team would like to have Green back for the postseason, but it seems lik a long-shot that he would be healthy enough to make the playoff roster by next week. The Sox should be able to manage just fine without Green in October.
