Braves.MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports Atlanta Braves OF Matt Diaz (knee) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Richmond Monday, Aug. 11. He will serve as a designated hitter during two of his first three games and hopes to play a full game by Thursday. Manager Bobby Cox didn't provide a timetable for Diaz's return, but did indicate that Diaz has had some recent problems getting the knee loose before batting practice.
