Tigers | Ordonez above .300 once again
The Detroit Free Press reports Detroit Tigers OF Magglio Ordonez became the first Tiger since 1950s slugger Harvey Kuenn to finish above .300 for three straight seasons. At the end of July, Ordoñez was hitting .258. Then he hit .348 in August. Since Sept. 1, he's hitting .441. Ordonez clinched his .300 season Sunday, Oct. 4, when he went 4-for-4 and raised his average six points to .309.
