Josh Geer surrendered two earned runs on seven hits with one strikeout in 6 1/3 walk-free frames against the Dodgers in a no-decision on Saturday.
Analysis: Geer has settled down in his past four starts, delivering four quality outings. Three of those appearances have come at PETCO Park, so clearly Geer enjoys the kind of success expected of many hurlers when throwing at perhaps baseball's most pitcher-friendly park. Beware of his propensity to permit homers, though. Manny Ramirez's long ball made it five straight games that Geer has allowed at least one tater. Look to him as an NL-only spot starter July 9 vs. the Giants at pitcher-friendly AT&T Park.
