Boston SP Josh Beckett was much improved on Tuesday night in Baltimore. He lasted seven innings, struck out five and only allowed two earned runs. And yet, he still lost the game to fall to 4-4 on the year. Beckett couldn't beat a team he's historically done extremely well against as he was out-pitched by rookie Brian Matusz. Beckett walked one and gave up seven hits over seven innings. His ERA is still high for the season at 6.21 but he was definitely more like himself on Tuesday. [...]
