Beckett picks up fourth win

Josh Beckett allowed four hits and three runs in 6.1 innings of work in Boston's 5-3 win over the Mariners in game one of a double-header on Wednesday. In improving to 4-3 on the season, he struck out seven and walked one.

Our View: The quality start was just his third in seven outings since coming off of the disabled list on July 23. Considering it came against the Mariners, his good day is not as encouraging as it otherwise may have been.
