Beckett loses thanks to one bad inning
Red Sox SP Josh Beckett lasted just 4 2/3 innings on Sunday night, allowing seven runs off 11 hits in a 7-2 loss to the Yankees. It was his worst start of four since coming off the disabled list on July 23. The right-hander gave up back-to-back RBI singles in the second before settling down a bit. But it all came unraveled in the fifth. In that inning, Beckett gave up a leadoff home run to Mark Teixeira and four more runs before being pulled for Manny Delcarmen with one on and two out.
