With an 0 for 4 game on Saturday in a 2-0 loss the Indians that dropped his batting average to .243, Marlins’ shortstop Jose Reyes is struggling yet again. He has now picked up just four hits over his last seven games, batting .200 in that span.
Analysis: It is hard to explain why Reyes is struggling so much in his first season in Miami, as he is posting the lowest strikeout rate of his career and an above-average line-drive percentage for his career of 23.0 percent. He is putting the ball in play and seems to be making good contact, however for whatever reason balls are not finding holes in the defense. He does have 10 stolen bases on the season, so he is still finding ways to be productive while his average slides. Reyes remains too talented for his production to lag like this, so Fantasy owners simply have to ride it out and hope he finds a way to turn things around.
