The Sports Network reports Houston Astros 3B Ty Wigginton was named the National League Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Aug. 17. Wigginton hit .571 (16-for-28) with 11 RBIs, four home runs and nine runs scored. He shares the honors with New York Mets SP Johan Santana.
