News: The Sports Xchange reports that A's RP Joey Devine told the San Francisco Chronicle that he is well ahead of schedule in his return from April 4 Tommy John surgery. 'I'm feeling really good and strong,' Devine told the newspaper. 'I feel much better than I did before surgery. Dr. (James) Andrews is so good at what he does, that's why so many guys go to him. I couldn't be happier I went to him.' According to the Chronicle, Devine is scheduled to start throwing in mid-August. He said he expects to be ready to pitch in games by spring training and he believes he will be on the opening-day roster, which puts him a good month ahead of expectations. [...]
