Jeremy Sowers is set to start today's preseason opener against the Giants, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Manager Eric Wedge said, 'He has had his ups and downs early in camp. He is still a young player and he is still working to find what he needs to do to be successful. It still goes back to commanding his fastball and throwing it where he wants to throw it. I would still like to see him get a little better feel for his change up to work off the fastball. It is in there, we just have to keep trying to help him bring it out on a more consistent basis.'Sowers is expected to earn a spot near the back of the Indians' rotation, but is not going to be a good source for strikeouts, and his ERA and WHIP are both likely to be too high to be useful in fantasy leagues.
