Washburn's Tiger days likely numbered
According to the Detroit Free Press, Tigers' pitcher Jarrod Washburn said he 'would be surprised' if the team offered him a contract for next season. Washburn was acquired from Seattle the the trade deadline but struggled with a knee injury after coming to Detroit.
Our View: Washburn was just 1-3 with a 7.33 ERA in his time with the Tigers this season, so it's not a big shocker that they might not want him back. He was having an outstanding campaign with the Mariners before the trade, so there is no doubt that he will get plenty of attention this winter.
