Nick Cafardo, of The Boston Globe, reports the Boston Red Sox are interested in trading for San Diego Padres SP Jake Peavy, if he decides to approve a deal. Peavy's agent, Barry Axelrod, said Peavy would likely accept a trade to the Red Sox. However, they are unlikely to pursue Peavy if they sign free-agent 1B Mark Teixeira (Angels).
