The Boston Herald's Michael Silverman reports Boston Red Sox OF Jacoby Ellsbury's 2009 defensive stats ratings placed him below average, but the team feels he's an average center fielder at worst. He needs to improve on reading the flight of balls when he comes in or goes back.
