Beckham sent to Double-A
The White Sox have optioned infielder Gordon Beckham to Double-A Birmingham. Once there, Beckham will play shortstop, the Chicago Tribune confirms. He hit .270 with two homers, six RBI, and two steals this spring.
Our View: Beckham had been competing for time at second base, but the White Sox handed that starting job to Chris Getz. We still thought Beckham might stick at that position and replace Getz after some minor league seasoning. This news suggests that the White Sox are thinking differently. Fantasy owners who've already picked Beckham may need to be more patient than we'd previously hoped.
