According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pirates' second baseman Freddy Sanchez is a late scratch for Friday's game with soreness in his back. He will be replaced by Ramon Vazquez in the lineup.
Our View: Sanchez felt the back issue as he arrived at the ballpark today, and he is being considered day-to-day by the team. It doesn't sound serious, but get him out today for sure and monitor his status for the weekend.
