News: Fernando Tatis homered twice and drove in four runs, giving the New York Mets' mix-and-match bullpen enough breathing room to close out the San Diego Padres 6-5 on Tuesday without injured Billy Wagner. Tatis hit a solo homer off Chris R. Young in the fourth and then followed with a three-run shot in the sixth that put the Mets ahead for good. After striking out twice against Young, Carlos Beltran singled off Mike Adams (1-1) to put runners at first and second with one out in the sixth. Tatis then hooked a 2-2 pitch into the left-field corner for his 101st major league homer and ninth this season, giving New York a 4-2 lead. [...]
