Hal McCoy, of the Dayton Daily News, reports Cincinnati Reds OF Willy Taveras received a rare start Thursday, Sept. 24, for the first time in more than a month. 'Taveras was struggling even before Stubbs got here,' manager Dusty Baker said. 'Taveras has been out a long time and the door was open for Stubbs and he really kicked that door open.' It appears that OF Drew Stubbs will open the 2010 season as the team's starting center fielder.
