Florida Marlins 2B Dan Uggla hit his 144th career home run against the San Diego Padres Saturday, July 31, according to The Associated Press. He passed Mike Lowell to become the franchise's all-time home run leader.
Atlanta second baseman Dan Uggla went 0 for 2 with two walks during the Braves' 2-0 win over Tampa Bay in an interleague game on Sunday. It was the second time in the past four games he has drawn multiple walks as he's reached base safely in 12 consecutive outings.
Analysis: After posting his lowest walk total last season since his rookie year (62), Uggla has regained some of his patience at the plate. He still ranks third in the National League with 49 strikeouts, but he has drawn 23 total walks through 42 games to fuel a stellar .361 on-base percentage. Last season, he had just 17 walks through May 20. His power has been sporadic, but he remains a strong starting option in all Fantasy formats.
