Red Sox | Dice-K on thin ice
Michael Silverman, of the Boston Herald, reports the Boston Red Sox have indicated that they won't have much patience with SP Daisuke Matsuzaka if he shows up next season not in shape. 'He did accomplish something in a condensed offseason, in the late summer, but that's not the time to do it; the time to do it is throughout the winter,' general manager Theo Epstein said. 'That's been clearly communicated and there will be follow up, and there are strong expectations that he shows up in fantastic shape on Day 1 of Spring Training next year. I see it as a necessity, not really an option.'
