Craig Counsell underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee Tuesday, according to beat writer Adam McCalvy's twitter page.

Our View: The club considered the procedure routine. The 39-year-old vet performed well with Milwaukee in 2009, as he held a .285 average over 404 at-bats. He will become a free agent in the offseason.
