Chris Sale Looks to Bounce Back in Favorable Road Matchup Against Chicago
Chris Sale has hit a slight bump recently, registering a 5.19 ERA and an elevated 2.31 WHIP over his last 5.2 innings, but he remains the unquestioned staff anchor for the Braves. With Atlanta comfortably leading the NL East with an impressive 45-21 record, Sale's role in the rotation is completely secure as he leads a healthy pitching staff into the summer.
The recent spike in hits is a minor blip compared to his overall body of work, which includes a dominant 2.24 ERA across 12 starts this season. Our models project him to maintain his elite performance over the rest of the year, tracking toward a 3.11 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and 195 strikeouts, proving his early-season dominance is highly sustainable.
This week, Sale is scheduled for a single road start on June 10 against the White Sox. He matches up against Erick Fedde, who has struggled to a 4.94 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP, making this a highly favorable matchup for our projected 1.92 ERA and nearly eight strikeouts. Start him with complete confidence.
