According to the Tampa Tribune, Rays outfielder B.J. Upton has been named the AL Player of the Month for June. Upton batted .324 with five home runs, 20 runs scored, 22 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and ten doubles to earn the award.

Our View: Upton has been destroying everything thrown at him in June, and he was the obvious choice here. The numbers just go to show you what he is capable of, and assuming he stays healthy he could very well do this all season.
