Yanks focused on Damon
According to Ken Davidoff on Twitter, the Yankees are making Johnny Damon their top free agent priority this offseason.
Our View: This means that Hideki Matsui and Andy Pettitte will have to take a back seat for the time being. Scott Boras is likely the reason that the Yankees are focusing their attention on Damon, and he'll also be the reason that Damon ends up raking in more than he deserves. He'll be looking for a four-year contract, but don't expect that to happen. When the dollars settle, Damon should have a two or three-year deal and the Yankees will likely be completely out of the running for Matt Holliday.
