Waino named NL pitcher of year by MLBPA
MLB.com is reporting that Cardinals' hurler Adam Wainwright has been named the NL's most outstanding pitcher by the Major League Baseball Players Association. Wainwright was 19-8 with a 2.63 ERA this season.
Our View: Waino was selected by his peers as the top pitcher in the NL, and this award is usually a good indication of who will win the Cy Young. It's a three-horse race in the NL, and now Wainwright looks to have a leg up on Tim Lincecum and teammate Chris Carpenter.
