The Phoenix Coyotes recalled forward Kevin Porter from their AHL affiliate in San Antonio on Monday. The 23-year-old Porter has four goals and nine assists in 14 games for San Antonio this season. He was recalled from the Rampage on Oct. 16, but did not dress for an NHL game and was sent down to the minors two days later.
The Phoenix Coyotes are still here. Not only that, they got off to the third-best start in franchise history. So where have all the fans gone? The players are beginning to wonder. "We're here. We're not going anywhere," winger Scottie Upshall said after a morning skate this week. "If we're winning games, why not come support a winning club?" A combination of prolonged...
NHL legend Chris Chelios has been trying to get any NHL team to at least take a look at him.
The Coyotes come into the game tonight returning from a road trip and trying to halt a two game losing streak. The Chicago Blackhawks have been enjoying the Phoenix weather since Tuesday. Following a long standing tradition the Blackhawks brought their dads on the road trip. I wonder if they would like to trade the round of golf or two they enjoyed, the expensive hotel suiteâs or the great food...
Today in court Judge Redfield T. Baum approved the sale of the Phoenix Coyotes to the NHL. This accomplishes two things: first it gets the team out of the Bankruptcy court; second it now allows the NHL as well as potential buyers to negotiate with the City of Glendale. One of the main negotiations that will need to be completed is a new lease agreement. One of the main complaints of potential bidd...
PHOENIX - A federal bankruptcy judge has given his approval to the sale of the Phoenix Coyotes to the NHL.

Judge Buam today approved the sale of the Phoenix Coyotes to the NHL. No drama in the courtroom today. Judge Baum asked some questions for clarification of the NHL bid, he also wanted to find out when the NHL could close. Once his questions were answered and some minor wording changes were made to the bid he approved the sale. More to come....
It was fitting to have Muhammad Ali in the building for the game last night between the Ducks and the Coyotes as it was a chippy game. The Coyotes struck first when Robert Lang scored at the 3:52 mark just 29 seconds into a power play. The Coyotes were controlling the tempo of the game. Then Shane Doan took a hard hit from James Wisniewski, that looked high and like an elbow to me, as he was enter...
How fitting is it that tonight is Halloween the night when you put on costumes and go door to door asking âTrick or Treatâ. For the first time since I moved to Phoenix in 1999 I entered the Coyotes arena not dressed in Jeans, a Yotes Jersey and a baseball cap, instead I find myself sitting in the press box dressed in business casual clothes. The day started when I arrived at the arena pick...
Tomorrow nights game will be my first from the Press Box at Jobing.com arena. I will be blogging live during the game, attending Coach Tippetsâ press conference after the game and conducting locker room interviews after the game. Halloween night the Anaheim Ducks come in to Jobing.com arena to face the Phoenix Coyotes. This will be the first game between the two this regular season. The Duc...
The Phoenix Coyotes may finally have someone who is interested in buying it. The owners of the Canadian Football...
The Phoenix Coyotes reassigned rookie defenseman Sean Sullivan on Thursday to their AHL affiliate in San Antonio. The 25-year-old Sullivan was recalled from the minors last Friday but did not appear in a game for the Coyotes. He had two goals and eight assists in eight games for the Rampage before being called up.
There is no cute way to say it, no sugar coated way and no reason to avoid the obvious, the Blue Jackets were horrible and have been for half their games so far. The team seems to be a Jekyll and Hyde type of group so far. At the beginning of the season, no one could score against the CBJ's PK, now everyone can. 3 power play goals given up tonight which hasn't happen since....oh that's rig...
Dallas Star forward Steve Ott has been suspended two games and fined approximately $35,000 US for a hit on St. Louis Blues defencemcan Carlo Colaiacovo.
It looks like another roller-coaster season in Montreal, where the Canadiens have rebounded from a five-game losing streak to win four in a row. Are the Habs back on track? What does the team need to do to improve? We talked about it with Kevin van Steendelaar of the Canadiens blog yathehabsrule.com.
PHOENIX - Phoenix Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes has agreed to sell the bankrupt franchise to the NHL.
I found myself in a familiar place this afternoon in the courtroom of Redfield Baum sitting on the hard benches at the back of the room. Todayâs hearing was requested by the creditors committee, it was an attempt by the committee to get some clarification by the judge about his ruling. Attorneys for all sides attempted to get some clarification from the judge on how the NHL could amend their...

Washington Capitals sniper Alex Ovechkin was fined by the NHL but avoided a suspension Friday after he slew-footed Atlanta's Rich Peverley a day earlier.
Adrian Aucoin is fitting in quite nicely in his first season with the resurgent Phoenix Coyotes. Aucoin scored at 1:57 of overtime to give the Coyotes a 3-2 comeback victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night for their best start in eight years. "Up a goal, down a goal, it doesn't matter," said Aucoin, who signed as a free agent after two seasons in Calgary.
