Kat Kealy: When is it too late?

Source www.hockeybuzz.com. 8 hrs 47 mins ago. | 0 comments.

The Ducks keep saying it’s early and they have time to turn their season around, but I disagree. They’ve played 25% of their games and are in last place in the western conference. It’s a lot harder to dig yourself out of a hole like that than it is to move downward or up just a little. Think about taking a class. If you decided to completely fail and perhaps not show up for the first...

Source sports.yahoo.com. 1 days 8 hrs 46 mins ago. | 0 comments.

After their second game together, Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau again raised the question why the San Jose Sharks' top three offensive threats weren't on the same line for the first 23 contests. Heatley scored his NHL-leading 18th goal and set up Thornton's go-ahead tally in the third period, leading the Sharks to a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

Eric Smith: Top Line Picks Up The Flag!

Source www.hockeybuzz.com. 9 days 8 hrs 47 mins ago. | 0 comments.

After the entire team dropped the flag Wednesday and pretty much left the ice and let the Red Wings have shooting practice, the Blue Jackets top line came out and reclaimed the flag. Rick Nash and Kristian Huselius scored both in regulation and also in the shootout to give the CBJ a much needed 2 points. Huselius was making his re-entry into the lineup after a trip to the I.R. and probably...

Hiller loses shutout, but holds on for Ducks win (AP)

Source sports.yahoo.com. 15 days 8 hrs 46 mins ago. | 0 comments.

Forget the shutout, Jonas Hiller was happy just to survive a chaotic third period. Mike Brown's goal off a faceoff in the final period became a surprising game-winner as the Anaheim Ducks held on for a 4-3 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night. After building a 4-0 lead on goals by Teemu Selanne, Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry and Brown, the Ducks surrendered three quick tallies to Phoenix in...

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The two-goal efforts by Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan were hardly a surprise to the Anaheim Ducks. The goals by Mike Brown and tough guy George Parros were a complete shock - especially because of their timeliness.

Kat Kealy: Ducks Make Maple Leafs’ First Win a Bit Easier

Source www.hockeybuzz.com. 27 days 9 hrs 47 mins ago. | 0 comments.

Brian Burke and Francois Beauchemin had triumphant returns to Honda Center and the Ducks took some careless penalties as they lost to the Maple Leafs at home. Toronto hadn’t won a single game and only had one point in their first 8 games of the season. Only one team had failed to beat the Maple Leafs in regulation, but the Ducks managed to take enough penalties to make the Leafs’ 6-3 win pos...

Howard Berger: Finally One For The Left Column

Source www.hockeybuzz.com. 27 days 9 hrs 47 mins ago. | 0 comments.

ANAHEIM (Oct. 27) — The music was blaring in the Maple Leafs’ dressing room for the first time since the final weekend of the exhibition schedule… in fact, the first time in exactly one month. For those with even moderate recall, September 26th is a distant memory, but that date represented the last victory in any game for the Leafs prior to Monday night. It was an exhibition win at home ove...

Mike Augello: GUSTAVSSON MONSTEROUS AS LEAFS EARN THEIR FIRST VICTORY

Source www.hockeybuzz.com. 27 days 9 hrs 47 mins ago. | 0 comments.

An analogy used often regarding former Leaf goalie Grant Fuhr was that he could allow 4 or 5 goals in a game, but when the outcome of the game was in the balance, he would make that key save at the opportune time. In his second NHL start, Jonas “The Monster” Gustavsson displayed that trait by making numerous big saves in the first two periods that prevented the Anaheim Ducks from getting back...

Mike Augello: BETTER EFFORT, SAME TALENT = 0-7-1,MONSTER LIKELY RETURNS TONIGHT VS. DUCKS

Source www.hockeybuzz.com. 28 days 9 hrs 47 mins ago. | 0 comments.

You could see that the message pounded into them for a week by coach Ron Wilson got to them. The Leafs played better defensively and with more snarl in their own zone. Luke Schenn played his best game of the season, stacking up a couple Canuck players behind the Leafs net like a pile of firewood and getting involved in a bit of fisticuffs. Instead of Jason Blake managing to injure his own goalie...
