The Devils are reportedly interested in acquiring Scott Niedermayer from the Ducks, according to Sun Media.The Ducks are currently tied with the Oilers in points and wins for the final playoff spot in the west. Trading a key part of their club wouldn't send a great message to the club or its' fans since they could just as easily be buyers if they remain in the playoff hunt. As for Niedermayer, he began his NHL career with the Devils and won three cups with the club. It might be nice for him to play in front of Martin Brodeur again once he returns as Jean-Sebastian Giguere has been really inconsistent this season.
