News: The Sports Xchange reports after Saku Koivu decided he didn't feel comfortable playing with his younger brother, Mikko, and turned down longer term and more money to sign a one-year deal with Anaheim, Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher decided to slow down his free agent search. Instead of signing a free agent such as Mike Comrie or Jason Williams to fill the No. 2 hole on the Wild roster, Fletcher will scour the trade market in hopes of landing a center or a scoring winger. The team plans to experiment in training camp by moving Pierre-Marc Bouchard, a dazzling playmaker, to center from right wing. Bouchard was a natural center in junior hockey but has played wing the majority of his career because former coach Jacques Lemaire felt his 5-foot-10 stature would inhibit his defensive responsibilities in the middle. Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion) is unlikely to play this season. Bouchard suffered a concussion almost a year ago and while he worked out symptom-free last off-season, he was hit in the jaw in pre-season and the headaches came back. He is not headache-free at this time, five months later and it looks like his season is over. "The important thing for me is that he gets healthy and gets back to being the Pierre-Marc Bouchard of old," Minnesota GM Chuck Fletcher said. "If we can get a happy, healthy Pierre-Marc Bouchard back for next season that's great. To me it's not a rush." Be very wary of taking him next season, even in deep drafts.
