Dallas GM Joe Nieuwendyk has revealed that Kari Lehtonen's undisclosed injury is to the meniscus in his right knee. He sustained the ailment while competing for Finland at the World Championships and according to Nieuwendyk it would have sidelined him for about two weeks if it took place during the regular season. A couple of extra things from the Bob Gainey press conference today.
_ Kari Lehtonen suffered an injury to the meniscus in his right knee at the World Championships, GM Joe Nieuwendyk said. If this was the regular season, Lehtonen would probably be out about two weeks. He will likely remain in Finland, but not play in any more games at the World Championships this year. He will then probably fly to Dallas to have the knee looked at in a week or so.
_ There will likely not be a Traverse City prospects tournament this year. Because the current CBA expires on Sept. 15, the timing didn't work. The Stars will have their own prospects camp in the summer
