News: The Sports Xchange reports C Cody Hodgson can't help the Canucks this season, but the top prospect's progress from the back injury that cost him a roster spot is encouraging. Hodgson, who was sent back to junior hockey for the season after the injury slowed him during a miserable training camp, rejoined the Brampton Battalion (OHL). The 19-year-old Hodgson, who was taken 10th overall in the 2008 NHL Draft, still hasn't been cleared for contact after seeking a second medical opinion from Dr. Tony Miniaci. But this is his first return to the ice since that opinion revealed more nerve damage than originally thought when Vancouver's medical staff cleared him to play in the preseason. [...]
