Our View: Crabtree is listed as probable this week, so expect him to take the field against the Pack. He has struggled over the last few weeks, but he should improve as he continues to develop a relationship with quarterback Alex Smith.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that, barring injury, Alex Smith will remain the 49ers' starting quarterback for the duration of the season.

Our View: Since supplanting Shaun Hill, Smith has completed passes at a higher rate, averaged more yards per pass attempt and taken less sacks than his predecessor. He is by no means an elite fantasy quarterback, but he is at least one with a stable starting job if he is available and you have a need at the position.

Shaun Hill is not likely to get another chance at starting with the 49ers, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Our View: The team likes him as a back-up, but thinks that is what he is best suited for. Five GMs and/or scouts tell Yahoo Sports that they believe Vernon Davis deserves "real consideration" to make the Pro Bowl this year. "Davis has been special this season," said one. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that cornerback Shawntae Spencer suffered a mild concussion in the 49ers' win over the Bears on Thursday night.

Our View: Spencer has 29 tackles and an interception this season. With the 49ers having three extra days to prepare for Week 11, and the concussion being mild, there's a chance he won't have to miss any game time.

News: Shawntae Spencer was as surprised as anybody when he opened the regular season as the starting right cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers. But there was nothing surprising about the way he played during the 20-16 win against the Arizona Cardinals in Spencer's first start since 2007. Spencer held up strong against the receiver tandem of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin and helped contain an Arizona passing attack that ranked second in the NFL last season. Spencer played well in coverage and was second on the team with five tackles. He helped fill the void left by Walt Harris, the team's starter at right corner since 2006 who was lost for the season when he tore knee ligaments in May. "Shawntae is better than he's ever been since he's been here," 49ers coach Mike Singletary said. "He's playing great technique. He's not making mistakes or mental errors. He's playing with a tremendous amount of confidence and doing a good job all the way around."

Analysis: Spencer has made a quick return to prominence in a secondary where he once was considered the team's No. 1 cornerback. Spencer started 39 games for the 49ers from 2004-2006, but he moved into a reserve role after the team brought in high-priced free agent Nate Clements to play left cornerback in 2007. Spencer missed five games to injury that season, then had his season end last year in Week 2 when he tore the ACL in his left knee. He had surgery in early October and went on injured reserve. Meanwhile, other cornerbacks passed him on the depth chart. Tarell Brown played well as San Francisco's No. 3 cornerback in Spencer's absence last year, and the 49ers brought in two-time Pro Bowler Dre Bly after Harris was hurt this spring to compete for a starting position. Spencer was not the top candidate to win the job at right cornerback this summer as Bly and Brown appeared to be the front-runners at the position. But Spencer's work did not go unnoticed as coaches moved him to the front of the line for the season opener. He validated that decision with his steady performance against the Cardinals. Spencer already is providing the team with confidence at a position that was considered one of San Francisco's biggest question marks entering the season. Still, he has low-end Fantasy appeal until his stats become a bit more appetizing for Fantasy purposes

News: Veteran San Francisco linebacker Jeff Ulbrich won't play again this season because of a concussion. He might be done altogether. The 49ers placed the 32-year-old Ulbrich on injured reserve Monday, ending his season. He sustained a concussion on the opening kickoff against St. Louis on Oct. 4 and was examined by a neurologist last week. Coach Mike Singletary said Monday the team concluded it was in Ulbrich's best interest to go on IR. The 10th-year pro, who is away from the team this week handling personal business, has said he's not ruling out retirement after sustaining more concussions during his career than he can count. He acknowledged he needs to think about his long-term health, future and family. "We really have a conservative approach in everything we do as it pertains to our players," Singletary said. "We want to make sure that even though we come out here and we stress the physicality of what we're trying to do and what we're trying to bring across, at the same time on the other side of that we want to make sure we take care of our players. Because taking care of the players means we're taking care of their families as well, in the long run."

Analysis: The veteran shouldn't be on any Fantasy rosters going forward
