NFL.com reports Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli said TE Tony Gonzalez did not request a trade, according to the Kansas City Star. Pioli said, �"He has not indicated to me that he wants to be traded. I don�'t want to get into any other specifics of the conversations because those are conversations that will stay between players and (head coach Todd Haley) and players and myself. They were good conversations, positive conversations, healthy conversations.�"

The Kansas City Star reports that Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez has not requested a trade. Said general manager Scott Pioli, "He has not indicated to me that he wants to be traded."

Our View: Gonzalez had previously stated he wanted to be moved, but seems to have backed off on that sentiment. The Chiefs have also said they have no plans to move him, so expect the future Hall of Famer to continue his career in K.C. He remains a top fantasy tight end.

Our View: Gonzalez has gone back and forth on demanding a trade. He is not doing so in this case but he does want the Chiefs to deal him if the right deal can be made.

Impacts: Asking not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the subject, the person said Gonzalez was surprised that Hunt had said the Chiefs were definitely not going to trade him. The only tight end in NFL history selected to 10 Pro Bowls, Gonzalez was usually double-teamed last year but still caught 96 passes for 1,058 yards and 10 touchdowns. He plans on playing at least one more season and possibly two.

Our View: Gonzelez had asked the Chiefs' front office for a trade last fall, but he later changed his position in favor of waiting to see what the team would do in the offseason.
